If you’re all amped up on the Saints’ victory tonight, then you might consider savoring the win in your 2010 garden, cher. Some veggies to consider, all of them staples of South Louisiana’s renowned Cajun and Creole cuisine:
Tomatoes
Squash
Okra
Scallions
Cayenne and Tabasco peppers
Sweet potatoes
and, of course, “The Holy Trinity”
- Onions
- Bell peppers
- Celery
For optimal results, check with your local county/parish extension office to best determine which varieties of the above plants will grow in your area.
