Homegrown Kids

“It’s not so much a ‘homeschool’ as a ‘life-long learning lab’ at our dining table.”

About This Series

In 2011, I launched a short series about our adventures in secular and eclectic homeschooling over at SlowBurbs.com. Since a lot of my friends practice after-schooling, my posts were written in an inclusive manner. In my opinion, both groups of parents can learn a lot from one another. In fact, I happen to believe that all parents homeschool. I even wrote my first SlowBurbs.com post on that topic (All Parents Homeschool. Yes, They Do).

I also set up a Pinterest board on the topic of homeschooling over the summer as a place “to park” all the cool stuff that I found online. (You can also see the Pinterest board dedicated to all the Homegrown Kids posts here at RW&G.)

Gradually, it became apparent that this content–and the topic of homeschooling itself–should be highlighted here at RW&G, too. When I reevaluated my long-term vision for RW&G (explained here), I decided to put this particular topic on the front burner from here on out. Rather than slipping in a post now and then as I’d done in the past, I set out to be more intentional about sharing my thoughts on the topic.

Here are the titles and links from the SlowBurbs.com series for your review:
