It’s TEDx Time!

UPDATE: Here’s a photo of our TEDx speech. How cool is it that Holly and I were the first speakers ever at TEDx San Antonio? Such an honor. Read on for details…

After weeks of rough drafts and rewrites, jam-packed meetings at the local Chick-Fil-A, and a day of intensive rehearsals, Holly Hirshberg and I are ready for tomorrow’s TEDx San Antonio event.

The topic of our talk? Planting gardens to fight hunger. Expect a recap of what we’ve learned from our experiences here at (me, obviously) and (Holly). We’ll be tipping our hats at some of our fave online resources, too.

As of tonight, Holly and I are slated to go first (EEK!) at 9AM CST. Live streaming will be available here. Not sure when the official video will go up, but I don’t think it’ll take too long.

If you decide to tune in, be on the lookout for other great presenters, most notably Eythor Bender who is going to demonstrate bionics with the help of the lovely Amanda. (We got a sneak preview today and it will knock your socks off what he’s got planned! I think he goes on around 11AM CST.)

Oh, yeah… if you missed it, I wrote about what it’s like to prepare a TEDx talk over on yesterday. If you’re in San Antonio, I’m scheduled to give a post-talk at next week’s SMBSA.

Thanks to all of you who’ve sent along good wishes and attagirls via Twitter, Facebook and email! I’m hoping that what we share will help the homegrown food movement take even deeper root in the months and years to come.

Wish us luck!
