Red, White & Mice: A Cute Holiday Craft

My friend Amy and her daughter made these darling mice for the girl’s classmates. Amy shared the image on Facebook and was nice enough to let me share it with y’all.

If we’d have had more time, we could have done a proper fancy photo shoot. But then if things get to looking too perfect around this blog, I’d stop reading it. Besides, every mother who has ever whipped up something for their kid’s class knows that sooner or later you gotta transport the loot somehow.

Hence the cardboard backdrop! Yup, we keep it real here at RW&G!

You’ll find a pattern for these felt cuties over on Martha Stewart, but Amy said she recalls making these little critters as a kid. Personally, I think Amy’s red-and-white version is way cuter than the one that Martha’s crew dreamed up. (Then again, I’m biased and think Amy is just the best li’l crafter ev-ah!)

I’ll be back later today with the weekly vintage postcard picture. In the meantime, acquaint yourself with my craft-inspired Pinterest board.  2012 might be the year that I rock some crafts!

Thanks for the shout out! I was just at Target, and I couldn’t believe they were out of candy canes.

Really? That seems a little early.
