
Our son is old enough now that he’s beginning to have some, er, speculation about Santa.
Our response? What my late mother-in-law used to say:
“If you believe in Santa,
then he’ll believe in you.”
Which makes a heckuva lotta sense, if you think about it. It’s better than making a threat, right?

In my mother-in-law’s house, Santa always left sensible stuff like toothbrushes and other goodies in the stockings, so that little quip wouldn’t have worked for her.
