From Blog Post to Bookshelf: The Final Countdown to My First Book

Excuse me. My ’80s roots are showing…

I’ve been humming this song all week.

As many of you know, my first book – on working homeschool parents–comes out in the middle of July.

Which means the days of my being an “unpublished” author are almost over. Done. Finito.

It’s a weird place to be in, this limbo land, waiting for my first book to come out. I’m already working on two other forthcoming projects, so it’s not like I have nothing to do. And then there’s my steady stream of content on Sulia.com. (Your following me there, too, right?!?!?)

Plus, I’m working on my blog book tour and some other marketing stuff. One doesn’t simply write a book, after all. One has to help the publisher sell it.

In a similar line of thought, a friend shared a link to a post by an accomplished author this morning. I have to say that it’s comforting to know that even successful accomplished authors have feelings of unease during the phase between a completed manuscript and a printed book.

Thanks, Julia Cameron, for sharing your own experience.

Now back to counting in 3…2…1…
