We had such a good time yesterday at a San Antonio church’s fall festival. There were some great ideas at the event, many of them worth trying out this Halloween.
Luckily I had my camera with me so you can see them, too.
Check out this awesome, large-scale outdoor Angry Birds game. Kids used little bird-shaped pillows to knock out the pigs.
There was old-fashioned apple bobbing, too.
One little ninja caught a fish.
The Castle Crashers crew was a big hit! But look closely…
One of the crashers is a scarecrow!
Families signed up in advance to assemble scarecrows in a really clever competition. One family made a straw minion.
And naturally there was a classic scarecrow.
(This outfit brought to mind the story I told here about my dad and Big Tex. Remember?)
These scarecrow people mean business. (We didn’t stick around to find out the winner, and I think there were some other competitors who came later.)
From the scarecrow that cheerfully greeted us upon entry to the scarecrow competition, it was a perfectly lovely autumn festival.
Happy fall, y’all!
